The short answer
Two prices exist for every job and you pay the lower one.
Per item, from a published catalogue. A sofa is $126. A queen mattress is $103. A standard refrigerator is $164. A treadmill is $115.
By truck fill, for anything too mixed to list: 1/4 truck $241, 3/8 $338, 1/2 $431, 5/8 $513, 3/4 $587, 7/8 $661, full $732.
The minimum for a visit is $75. Carry-out and disposal are both inside the price.
What the price includes
Everything between the item sitting where it sits and the item being gone.
- Two people carrying it out, from any floor.
- Disassembly where the piece will not fit through the door.
- Loading, transport and disposal at the facility.
- A sweep of the space afterwards.
And the things that are not in it, because these get asked every day in a metro with a lot of upstairs bedrooms and a lot of walk-up complexes: there is no stair charge, no walk-up fee, no long-carry fee, no fuel surcharge and no same-day surcharge. A queen mattress from a second-floor bedroom in Lake Highlands is $103, the same as a queen mattress sitting in the garage.
What Dallas households actually book
Real prices attached to real rooms, built by addition from the catalogue.
One sofa. $126.
A bedroom set. Queen mattress $103 + box spring $92 + standard bed frame $68 + standard dresser $126 + nightstand $57 = $446.
The garage exercise corner. Treadmill $115 + weight bench $69 + weight set $93 = $277. Or a home gym multi-station on its own at $241.
Kitchen appliances out on a remodel. Standard refrigerator $164 + electric range $134 + dishwasher $109 = $407.
Patio after a hail storm. Patio table $89 + four patio chairs at $30 each ($30 + $30 + $30 + $30 = $120) + umbrella with base $53 = $262.
A whole two-car garage. Truck-ladder territory — commonly a half at $431, three-quarters at $587 or a full load at $732 depending on how deep it goes.
Why a two-car garage is the classic Dallas job
Most of this city is single-story ranch stock with a two-car garage and no basement. That garage is the only overflow space the house has, so it absorbs thirty years of everything: the treadmill that lasted one January, the chest freezer that ran during the pandemic, the camping gear, the kids' bikes, four half-used cans of paint.
Two consequences for price. First, volume — these are truck-ladder jobs, not per-item jobs, and the honest answer to "how much for my garage?" is "send a photo with the door up". Second, the summer heat has already done work on the contents. Anything with foam, adhesive or a rubber belt in it has been through repeated hundred-degree cycles in an unconditioned space, which is why so much of what comes out of a Dallas garage is not donatable even though it looks fine from the doorway.
The four things that genuinely move the number
- Volume. How much truck it fills. Dominates everything.
- Weight. Dense material is priced separately — concrete and masonry debris is $219 per quarter truck rather than $241, because a quarter truck of it weighs what a full truck of sofas weighs.
- Specialist items. An upright piano is $290, a baby grand is $438, a hot tub is $322, a six-to-eight person hot tub is $390, a pool table is $603, a slate pool table is $706, a large gun safe is $260.
- What is in it. A few categories need a different route entirely. Ask at booking rather than assume.
That is the list. Floor number, parking distance, booking lead time and the state of the room are not on it.
Buildings, HOAs and access
Access does not change the price, but it changes the plan, and getting it right up front is how a job stays on schedule.
Uptown, Victory Park and Downtown towers. Expect a booked service-lift window, a loading-dock slot and a certificate of insurance held by management before anyone goes up. We carry the COI — give us the management email at booking.
Alley-access houses in East Dallas, Lakewood, the M Streets and Winnetka Heights. The truck can usually pull into the alley behind the detached garage, which is often a shorter and straighter carry than going through the house. Tell us the gate width.
HOA subdivisions in Frisco, Prosper, Allen, McKinney and north Plano. Covenants often restrict what may sit visible on a driveway and for how long. A same-day removal sidesteps the issue entirely, which is why a lot of our northern-suburb bookings are for the morning after a garage sale.
Small jobs and the minimum
The floor is $75 per visit. Individual items sit under it and that is fine — they just get combined, or the visit prices at $75.
- Countertop microwave: $30
- Patio chair: $30
- Suitcase or luggage: $30
- Moving box: $31
- Small area rug: $33
- Bag of clothes: $35
- Bicycle: $37
- Box of books: $45
- End table: $52
- Nightstand: $57
Two nightstands at $57 and $57 = $114, which is over the minimum with nothing to top up.
How to get an exact number
Send photos. One per room from the doorway, the garage with the door up, and anything unusual close-up. From that we either price the list per item or place it on the ladder, and you get the total in writing before the truck is dispatched.
If you can list the contents instead, list them by name — "sofa, queen mattress, box spring, two nightstands, treadmill" prices to the dollar. "A few things from the garage" does not, and it is the reason estimates drift.
The number you are quoted is the number you pay, unless something appears on the day that was not on the list. If that happens you see the catalogue price for it before we load it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum charge for junk removal in Dallas?
$75 per visit. Items below that price get combined into the visit — two nightstands at $57 and $57 = $114, for example, which is already over the minimum.
How much is a full truck?
$732. The ladder runs 1/4 at $241, 3/8 at $338, 1/2 at $431, 5/8 at $513, 3/4 at $587, 7/8 at $661 and full at $732. If your items price lower individually from the catalogue, you pay that instead.
Do you charge more for an upstairs room or a walk-up flat?
No. Carry-out from any floor is included in the item price. There is no stair charge, no walk-up fee, no long-carry fee and no same-day surcharge.
How much to clear a two-car garage?
It is a volume job, so it depends on depth. Most Dallas two-car garages land between a half truck at $431 and a full load at $732. Send a photo with the door up and you will get a firm number before booking.
Is disposal included?
Yes. The published price covers carry-out, loading, transport and disposal. There is no separate dump fee added afterwards.
Can the price go up on the day?
Only if there are items that were not on the list. Those get added at their published catalogue price and you see the figure before anything is loaded. Nothing about the access, the floor or the booking date changes it.
